A foyer is a good place for a gallery of pictures, artwork and other interesting things. There are some great examples of walls in a foyer that are done very well. I personally love the combination of pictures of family, places you have been, some interesting art (that you may have picked up in a place you have been) and something unusual.
There are several places where you can print out your social media pictures. The options range from expensive to really inexpensive (Walgreens Square Prints) to a little more expensive. I also like the option to print them to canvas, have you tried using CanvasPop for anything? I love them! If you want your images to have a little more presence check them out and get them printed on canvas.
I was looking for inspiration for the wall right next to my front door right around the time I started this blog. I live in an older ranch home and if you come through the door you walk right into the living room. Estate sales have been my friend when it comes to making it feel more welcoming. I found a small-ish table that isn’t very deep that sits there but I haven’t added any art above it yet. You can see the photo feature wall project I’m going to do at the top of my blog page, here’s the whole picture:
The way that pictures are featured on the wall make them an eye-catcher. I’m not a fan of the color of the moulding but I know I can find other prefinished moulding in different colors at Lowe’s or Home Depot. I can find some smaller less expensive frames at Michael’s (because they always have a sale) or even a dollar store (I look for frames that have a unique shape that I can paint). Along with that I will need a little casing or base, some type of flat moulding to create the squares, a level and definitely a measuring tape and I will be on my way. As soon as the project is complete I will be sure to post a picture and the steps I took to do it. I’m off to decide which images I want to print to put on the wall.
If you have worked on a feature wall for your entryway I would love to see it. Have a great weekend!
